The first gathering of the folk groups in Florida took place in the Portuguese community of Ft. Lauderdale in 1994 Since then, the folk groups have been gathering every year on labor day weekend, with each community taking turns hosting the event.
This festival celebrates Portuguese Folk Dance throughout an afternoon filled with joy, A jubilee that thrills the hearts and lift-up the dancers' feet, enticing and inviting the audience to the fast vira steps and other dance styles
